Meet Dr. Lisa Mertz
Dr. Mertz grew up in Pflugerville, TX with her two younger siblings. Even as a little kid knew she wanted to be in the health field, playing doctor to all her stuffed animals and making sure no one left “her office” without a sticker! Her drive and competitive nature helped push her to gain top honors in both undergrad and professional schools. While receiving her dental degree, she was able to solidify her passion for treating patients and realized that one of the biggest hurdles in her career would be overcoming patient fear. Dr. Mertz has made it her personal mission to make sure that dental fear doesn’t hold back patients from receiving the care that they need!
"I wanted to create an environment where patients of all different dental experiences could come and feel at ease; from high anxiety to no anxiety I wanted each to leave feeling like they had a great appointment."
Dr. Mertz loves dentistry because it is a profession that allows for each day to be different and is constantly evolving with new techniques which is exciting and fun! However, the best part about dentistry in her opinion is the people- getting to know their stories, and grow with them through the years. Dr. Mertz knows that creating positive dental experiences start at a young age, and welcomes all ages of family members to her office!
When not in the office Dr. Mertz loves to read and stay active whether that's at the gym or walking the pup. She also loves to travel, her most recent adventures took her to the Caribbean where she got engaged to her fiancé, Brett. Since moving to Weatherford, they’ve enjoyed exploring the town and checking out all the local restaurants!
